Households Hazzards

Yarn, strings and other long objects can create ostipation and other gastrointestinal problems. 

Open water tanks including aquariums and toilets should be closed due to risk of drowning. 

If living high above ground one should have an inner window screen or in other ways make sure the
cat can not fall out. Observe the new regulation from the Swedish agricultural Department regarding
balconies, they should be netted or you must have supervision should the cat spend time there. 

Many plants are toxic to cats and should be avoided including; Azalea, Cyclamen, Christmas star (poinsettia), Iron oak,
Winter Cherry, Sweet pea, Mistletoe, Common Ivy, Dumb cane and Rhododendron. 

Many pharmaceuticals are toxic to cats, always ask a veterinarian before administration. Paracetamol and
Aspirin directly toxic to cats and lethal in very small doses.  

The cook stove should be covered with appropriate covers or a coldwater kettle to avoid burnt paws.

Plastic bags are a risk due to suffocation.
